About The Baby Penguin
My website is dedicated to educating, advocating, and empowering parents to make thoughtful and sustainable choices for their children. I started The Baby Penguin to highlight the amazing sustainable toys and companies that chose to put our children, the environment, and our communities ahead of the bottom line. There are so many amazing benefits to sustainable toys. Sustainable toys promote learning, development, and happiness. We chose the most sustainable toys on the planet to be in our shop. The toys we sell are designed to last for generations, keeping trash out of landfills, and are made from wood that is sustainably sourced. And we know that communities are among our greatest resources. We can all change the world…one toy at a time!
Family
For my family, the focus has always been on the experiences and the journeys together. I have been parenting for 19 years and have five children. We have lived in seven states and Europe. The adventures and challenges have made us stronger creating a unique family bond.
Creativity
Creativity breeds ingenuity. As children develop in imagination and creativity they are able to tell a story, relate to other people, keep themselves emotionally grounded and enter their imaginary worlds. Our open ended toys unlock the creative potential in every child.
Environment
A Sustainable toy is made of biodegradable natural materials such as renewable wood, cotton, bamboo, or wool. A sustainable toy has been manufactured in a nonpolluting way. A way without releasing carbon, greenhouse gases, or chemical toxins. These can be released into the waterways and the environment.
