ToggleHoliday Themed Wooden Toys | Complete List
Kids love special holiday-themed toys and playsets that make an appearance only once a year. These special holiday toys help prepare kids for Hanukah and Christmas in a fun and hands-on way! When most grown-up holiday decorations are off-limits to kids to touch, the below-listed holiday toys are perfect for kids to play with and enjoy. As a parent, I know that if you offer some holiday decor that is child-friendly and safe then they will not be as tempted to touch your breakable decor! I love when toys can be used as decorations once your kids have outgrown them. Years from now, you will have memories of your little one playing with that holiday toy they once loved! Listed below are some fun and beautiful holiday-themed wooden toys perfect for play!
Maple Landmark –
This is my first choice for wooden holiday-themed toys as they make heirloom quality toys in Vermont, USA. Their toys are made from hard, heavy-weight wood that is always sanded smoothly and hand-crafted beautifully. The quality of their toys is impeccable and so much better than other toy brands out there. You have to see Maple Landmark‘s toys in person to see the difference but these are the types of toys that are handed down to the next generation! Maple Landmark makes all of their toys without plastics or batteries plus they use child-safe pigments that won’t chip! Maple Landmarks wood used is locally sourced in Vermont and is very durable.
HABA-
Haba’s nativity and games are made in Germany. They are known for their high-quality baby toys, blocks, marble runs, and games in Europe. They make their toys from hard beechwood and all of their toys are functional and beautiful.
Uncle Goose Blocks-
Uncle Goose blocks are made in Michigan, USA. This company makes a variety of large-sized ABC blocks in different languages, and themed block sets such as space and dinosaurs. Below are their two Christmas decor block sets.
Fisher-Price Thomas and Friends-
Fisher-Price is not a sustainable company, however, they do make a Thomas & Friends wooden railroad line. This is their only wooden holiday-style train.
Melissa & Doug-
Melissa & Doug is not a sustainable company, however, they do make wooden toys at a lesser price point, and their lower quality depicts this. Most Melissa & Doug toys do not hold up to year-round play but would do fine for seasonal play during the holidays.
BRIO-
BRIO is most famous for its train world sets. They are a Swedish company that is manufactured in China. Their Christmas steam train set does require batteries and has some plastic as does the advent calendar train below. BRIO can be pricy in the US as it is priced less in the European market. See my top wooden trains HERE.
Final Thoughts:
The holidays only come once a year and it is a special time to enjoy spending with your family. Make it memorable by taking the extra time to play with your kids or grandkids as the time truly does go by fast! I hope you have enjoyed the above-listed holiday-themed wooden toys. All of the toys listed above promote family play time and many of them can double as decor when your child outgrows it! Have fun making Holiday memories that last!
