In this article, I will give a complete guide to Brio World. Brio World might be the best wooden train set line. I am going to highlight the best BRIO Train Sets there are. But before I get started, let me introduce myself. My name is Christina, and I have had the opportunity to go hands-on with many toys while parenting five kids spanning 19 years.
I always call it the good, the bad, and the ugly with the toys I have seen. I have made some “poor decisions” on toys and have learned a lot through these experiences. Owning an e-commerce toy store alongside my parenting of 5 children has given me more toy experience than I have ever thought I would have. - BRIO does not use PVC or other plastic types with so-called plasticizers, also known as phthalates.
- All the wood they use is beech, except in one case where they use pine. Beech only grows in Europe, from southern Sweden to the northern part of the Balkan region. Since 2014 all the wood we use has been FSC®-labeled. This ensures that it comes from renewable forests and that no unique biospheres are destroyed.

What is the history of BRIO?
- BRIO was founded in 1884 in Osby, a small town in southern Sweden. Today, the small family-run business has grown into the global company BRIO AB, with subsidiaries in Germany, France, and Japan and distributors around the world. BRIO’s product portfolio currently consists of numeroandbut also games for the whole family brand Alga.

How does BRIO work?
Toys should help children grow. Daniel Mauritzson is a toy designer at BRIO, working out of BRIO’s R&D unit at the headquarters in Sweden. He draws the first lines on a blank piece of paper when a new toy is about to be designed, and he tracks the idea through to the final prototype ready for production. This can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months.
“What is the most important thing going through your mind when you design new toys?”
“We have four key rules that I base my work on. Toys should be safe to play, comply with BRIO’s high-quality stay, be intuitively easy for the child to un, and help the child grow through play.”
“How do you know that when you design a new toy, it will be compelling to children when it’s done?”
“A crucial part of my job is to watch how children play and to understand how children think and react. Therefore my colleagues and I spend a lot of time testing new toys by observing how children use them, and we try to learn from this before we complete a design. This is incredibly exciting because you are always surprised. Children’s imagination is a marvelous world.”
“What does it mean to you that toys should help children grow?”
“It’s important to distinguish between entertainment and growth. For BRIO, toys are not about entertaining or pacifying children. A successful toy can stimulate the child’s imagination and be part of the child’s growth through play – even at different ages. - A lot is going on with this set. So many unique elements. It is a little pricier at one of the higher-end sets. I love all the different train car types.

And there’s more help on the way with the police motorcycle zooming out of the police station and the ambulance driving with lights flashing and sirens playing. - Out on the farm, Life is quiet. The cow and horse are out on the pasture while the tractor takes the hay load to the barn. With this BRIO farm railway set, the crane lifts the hay onto the loft. When it’s time for the Animals to move indoors, place them on the wagon with help from the fold-out ramp and transport The wagon with the farm train set. Farm toys are fun!

- Who does love Farm Life? This is the cutest set and has a different theme than most BRIO World Sets. My kids love putting the cow in the train cart.

Look out the window and see the cars stopping at the road crossing along the train tracks. Lucky that the train arrives on time, some passengers need to switch over and catch the bus!

- This might be the best value in the Top 20. Coming in under $100 for BRIO and still getting a lot of track.

- There is a fire, and they need your help! With BRIO’S firefighter train set, you can drive immediately to the docking station and fill the fire train with water and gas. The firefighter goes along in his fire truck with sirens and lights. Put down the fire with the fire hose on and add more BRIO wooden tracks forgot. For more action this firefighter tracks.
- The product includes – The Firefighter Set comes with 18 pieces, including a fire train with a fire hose wagon, docking station, firefighter figure, fire truck with light and sound, and more.
- Pretend Play puts children into the role of the hero. I love the firefighter theme, and BRIO pulls it off nicely!

- Lift and load! This BRIO lift and road loading set is packed with lots of play, including two trucks and a train pulling a crane wagon to lift loads on and off the train track. Take the rock loads off the train and load them onto the trucks for safe road transportation to the end destination.
- The Product includes – The Rail and Road Loading Set comes with 32 pieces, including a train with a particular crane car and flatbed, two trucks, and two magnetic boulders.
- There are many sets, sort of like this one. I like the magnetic boulders and the crane that drops them. It’s very well made!

- Why can’t Christmas be every day? It can with this new BRIO Christmas Train! The steam engine is pretty neat, and the kids love it. Another option is to keep it with the Christmas decor so it’s a yearly novelty.

- Each large mountain piece offers customizable play features. It can be modified to create open-ended train set designs with different heights, layouts, and functions.

- It is pretty heavy on the bulky plastic pieces, which detract from the beautiful wood track. It’s also harder to store with the size. It’s a fun new set for BRIO, but we will have to see parents receive it, parents.

Summary:
You will love the quality of Top BRIO World Train Sets. BRIO World is one of the most comprehensive railways/small-world play systems. It promotes fine motor skills, problem-solving, creativity, and imitative roleplay. Its European functional and straightforward design elements create an imaginative small world for your children to play in. The craftsmanship is high quality with excellent paint, smooth sanded wood, and no rough edging. BRIO uses higher quality ABS safer plastic than most toys on the market.
BRIO makes a Classic line of sets that are all wooden for parents to choose from as well. Alinnd all though, this is a solid classic toy that my three kids are playing witdailyis. The difference between your basic wooden train set and BRIO is the lifespan of this toy. Most kids outgrow train sets by age six; however, BRIO also appeals to the older child.
